GHTC welcomes G20 health ministers’ commitments to strengthen global R&D capacity

GHTC welcomes the R&D commitments outlined in the two declarations released following this week's G20 Health Ministerial meeting, particularly on support for R&D-related initiatives to improve pandemic preparedness, prevention, and response and combat antimicrobial resistance.

GHTC signs onto letter to appropriators advocating for NIAID funding in final FY25 budget

GHTC signed onto a community letter addressed to House and Senate Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Subcommittee Chairs and Ranking Members advocating for the Senate funding level for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in any final fiscal year 2025 (FY25) appropriations bill.

GHTC welcomes new and returning steering committee members

GHTC announced today the appointment of two returning individuals and one new individual elected by the GHTC membership to serve on the coalition’s steering committee for the next three years, as well as the appointment of a new ex officio member representing GHTC's secretariat organization PATH.

Senator Booker introduces SIGHT Act in Senate

The Supporting Innovative Global Health Technologies (SIGHT) Act, a bill spearheaded and endorsed by GHTC that would create a disease-agnostic fund for research and development at the US Agency for International Development, was introduced in the Senate by Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) today after being introduced in the House of Representatives last fall.
