The Global Health Technologies Coalition: A case study in successful R&D advocacy
This case study examines GHTC as a model of coalition building in the global health space. It documents GHTC’s history and advocacy successes and explores lessons learned by GHTC in building and operating a coalition, providing a list of eight “keys to success” which can help inform coalition building efforts by other organizations.
The study was authored by an independent consultant and drawn from a series of interviews conducted with leaders from product development partnerships, advocacy groups, and government agencies who were involved in GHTC’s creation or current operations. The interviews were supplemented by coalition documents and online resources.
